Why not come along to one of our New Members evenings and have a look at what we do behind the scenes. Evenings will be held on Mondays at 7.30pm or you can contact us by post, email or by phone on Monday evenings and show nights.
We are always happy to receive new members with or without experience in whatever capacity; acting, backstage, lighting and sound, props, wardrobe or staffing our front of house, box office and bar. Your offers of assistance in any area will be gratefully appreciated. We do not have a youth theatre at the present time and usually recruit from 16 years upwards. We are a voluntary organisation and cannot provide paid employment.
If you would like to audition for any of our productions at the theatre then please look out for audition dates which are normally posted on theatre notice boards, in our newsletter and on our website and Facebook pages. There is a familiarization evening for each production when you can learn more about the play. Our auditions (readings) are relatively informal affairs and are a chance for the play’s director to get an idea of what you can do. You will always be able to contact the director before-hand if you have any queries. Never be disheartened if you are not cast, there will be plenty of other opportunities. Scripts are normally available from the box office on Monday evenings. Rehearsal nights are normally Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, although this can vary depending on cast availibility and the rehearsal period for shows is typically six to seven weeks.
Membership costs just £10 for twelve months and gives you reduced ticket prices to see our shows. Monday evening is our ‘club night’. The bar is normally open from 9.15pm and we hope that you will come down and share a drink and a chat with other members.
