HAPPY AS A SANDBAGKen Lee
HAPPY AS A SANDBAG was first performed in May 1972 and focuses on the warmth, courage and spirit shown by the British people coping with WWII on the home front. Dealing with rationing, separation of families and loss of loved ones, confirming how music and songs got people through the darkest days. Radio was central to people’s lives – dominated by war reports but also sharing the stars and music of the time. So come along and join in with all of those wonderful inspirational people – The Andrews Sisters, Rob Wilton, Winston Churchill, Tommy Handley and many, many more. Don’t forget your flags….!
